Interested in learning more about MSD and its facilities? MSD offers three tours to the public. All tours are free; there is no cost to participate. To request a tour, please scroll to the bottom of this page for contact info.

 

 

MILL CREEK WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT

This tour highlights the Mill Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant, MSD's largest treatment facility, located in Queensgate/Lower Price Hill. The Mill Creek tour typically lasts between 1.5 and 2 hours, but can be shortened to accommodate schedules.

 

This is a walking tour around the treatment plant that covers preliminary, primary, and secondary treatment processes, and sludge handling/incineration. We recommend this tour for students in the 4th-12th grades, college students, and adults. The tour is limited to 15 people per tour guide, with a maximum of 60 people. A waiver and close-toed shoes are required. Please dress appropriately for walking and the weather.

 

 

LICK RUN GREENWAY

This tour highlights MSD's nationally recognized "Lick Run Greenway" project in South Fairmount and adjacent neighborhoods within the City of Cincinnati. The Lick Run tour typically lasts about 1.5 hours, but can be shortened or lengthened to accommodate schedules and interest levels.

 

This is a walking and driving tour through the Lick Run watershed. You will need to provide your own transportation to MSD, but MSD can provide transportation for the tour. We recommend this tour for students in the 9th-12th grades, college students, and adults. We can accommodate up to 24 people in two vans, unless otherwise arranged. Close-toed shoes are required.

LEED GOLD ENGINEERING BUILDING

This tour highlights MSD's LEED Gold office building for its engineering staff on the Mill Creek campus in Queensgate/Lower Price Hill. The Engineering building tour typically lasts about 1 hour, but can be shortened or lengthened to accommodate schedules and interest levels. This is a walking tour that focuses on the LEED Gold aspects in a three-story building, including HVAC, lighting, green roof, building materials, etc. 

 

We recommend this tour for students in the 9th-12th grades, college students, and adults. The tour is limited to 30 people per tour guide, with a maximum of 60 people.
