Project Overview
MSD will construct a new raw sewage pumping facility at the Muddy Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) in the City neighborhood of Sayler Park. This project will increase the influent pumping capacity to 52 MGD, with future expansion capabilities to accommodate up to 122 MGD. The new facility will be constructed on the existing treatment plant site, in the former ash lagoon area.
This project also anticipates:
- Consolidation of several incoming interceptors to handle future wet weather needs and redirect flow to the new pump station.
- Improvements to the existing site, including close coordination with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) related to work on the existing flood control levee
- Non-potable water infrastructure upgrades
- Electrical system improvements including a new substation with new switchgear, new transformers and other improvements.

- Detailed Design is currently underway.
