Project Overview

This project will be upgrading the Pleasant Run East Pump Station, replacing the Pleasant Run West Pump Station, and eliminating the Pleasant Run Central Pump Station located in Springfield Township and the City of Forest Park. These pump stations were installed in the 1970s with Dry Well/Wet Well configurations and operate in series.

The firm capacity of the new system is around 11 MGD. The project includes over 25 feet of 30” gravity sewer, 18,000 feet of new 16” to 32 force mains, pumps, and electrical improvements along with building and odor control improvements, all requiring the existing system to remain in service during installation. This project also includes a new equalization basin of approximately 300,000 gallons at the Pleasant Run West Pump Station.
