Annual Capital Improvement Project (CIP) Book
Capital projects are large-scale projects that are funded by MSD's Capital Improvement Program (CIP) budget. They are typically planned and designed in house or by a third-party consultant and constructed by an outside construction firm. CIP projects are rated and prioritized each year to meet the various needs of MSD and its ratepayers.
Projects can be generated through a number of sources, including in-house, other governmental agencies, environmental concerns, and the public. MSD’s CIP includes wet weather projects required by our Wet Weather Program to reduce sewer overflows, as well as asset management projects needed to rebuild our aging sewer system.
