LOCATION, HOURS, AND PARKING

The Greenway is open to the public 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily in the Cincinnati neighborhood of South Fairmount. Parking is available in the main lot at 1661 Queen City Avenue (45214), a satellite lot at 1911 Queen City Avenue, and along the south side of Westwood Avenue and north side of Queen City Avenue.

AMENITIES

The Greenway offers the following amenities:

• Basketball Courts - Operated by the Cincinnati Recreation Commission (CRC).
• Playground - Operated by the Cincinnati Recreation Commission (CRC).
• Water Spray Park - Operated by the Cincinnati Recreation Commission (CRC).
• Two Shelters - Operated by the Cincinnati Recreation Commission (CRC). The shelters are currently first come, first served. CRC is not taking reservations at this time.
• Event Stage (not covered)
• 1.5 miles of Walking/Biking Paths
• Lick Run Heritage Trail - A series of educational signs through the Lick Run Greenway and surrounding neighborhood that talk about the history of South Fairmount and the need for the Greenway project.

BENEFITS

On the surface, the Lick Run Greenway looks like a park with a stream running through it, but it’s also a stormwater management project that helps control sewer overflows into the Mill Creek.

Environmental

The Lick Run Greenway has improved water quality in the Mill Creek and made it safer for recreation:

• Eliminated 800 million gallons of combined sewers overflows (CSOs) annually into the Mill Creek.
• Nine new fish species in the Mill Creek, including smallmouth bass.

Economic

The Greenway provides opportunity for economic improvements in the South Fairmount neighborhood:

• $111 million investment in South Fairmount
• Major improvements in drinking water, gas, electric, fiber optic, and transportation infrastructure

Community

The Greenway offers recreational and social opportunities for South Fairmount:

• Green space
• Recreational paths for walking, biking, etc.
• Recreational paths for walking, biking, etc.
• Community event space
• New recreational area operated by CRC
